Fedora asking for password each time

Hi, Fedora 36 is asking for the admin password every time despite the options "don't ask elevation every run" being set.
And so the question is .... How can I fix this ?

I downloaded the 2.21.8 and the issue is still here.

I have the same issue too, the button is clicked but doesn't do anything. Using the latest version of eddie.

Please all of you verify whether you're not referring to the profile encryption password set up in Eddie Preferences > General > Profile data protection. If it's set to Password, it might appear as if Eddie is still asking for privileges when in reality it asks to decrypt your profile data. All the more confusing if the password is the same as your user account's.

Mine is set to "Plain (no password asked)" & still ask for root password

This doesn't work for me in Kinoite 38 (Fedora KDE immutable) or in a normal Fedora 38 VM with version 2.22.2. This was also the case with Fedora 36 and 37.

With Kinoite, after checking the box for "Don't ask elevation every run":

It prompts for a password after clicking Save
If I open Settings again, the box is unchecked and no eddie-elevated service is created,.

With a normal Fedora VM the box remains checked after saving the setting and it creates a service for eddie-elevated (which runs) but it still prompts for a password when starting Eddie.

I get the same message. I tried

$ sudo systemctl enable eddie-elevated

and
 

$ sudo systemctl enable --now eddie-elevated

sadly neither worked. please hepl me out, what do i have to do to start the service?

Hello!

You should be able to avoid the password request by ticking "Don't ask [for] elevation [at] every run" in "Preferences" > "General" window. Eddie 2.23.2 is required, as this feature might not work properly in Eddie 2.21.8 on Fedora 38 and 39.
