VPN adpater name switching from tun0 to tun1 on VPN reconnect - AirVPN Suite

Recommended Posts

I am running the AirVPN Suite (64 bit) on a Linux x86 VM. Works well as long as my internet connection is stable. Problem is when my internet connection drops, the AirVPN adapter name will switch from "tun0" to "tun1" when the client re-establishes a connection with the AirVPN servers. This breaks my Bittorrent client because I have it bound to the "tun0" adapter.

Is there a way to make the AirVPN Suite keep the same adapter name between disconnects and reconnects? Thanks.

Hello!

It should happen by default, as tunpersist is set to "on" by default. Can you please check your /etc/bluetit.rc file? Try also to explicitly declare tunpersist on (on any line in the file). Edit the file with root privileges.

tunpersist: (on/off) Enable or disable tunnel persistence. In case it is enabled the tun device is kept active in case of VPN connection loss or pause.

Kind regards
