Getting AirVPN to work in Egypt with stunnel

Recommended Posts

So I am travelling to Egypt soon and they block all OpenVPN connections from what I've read, but stunnel is supposed to be working.

How do I set this up through Eddie on Ubuntu?

I read the guide and it just said

Select AirVPN menu -> Preferences -> Protocols. Select one of the SSL Tunnel options. Click Save.

I went into protocols and I don't see anything about SSL tunnels. I only see ports I can choose, I know SSL works over port 443.

Will simply selecting port 443 work in circumventing the VPN block? Or is there something else I need to do?

In Preferences > Protocols, unselect Automatic, then you can scroll in the list below. :)

Hello!

A month ago a long time customer of us from Egypt told us that protocol TCP to port 443 of entry-IP address three is the quickest way he found to bypass Egypt ISP blocks. Worth a try, probably that connection mode is still effective. It would save you the overhead caused by an additional tunnel.

Kind regards

Is this method still applicable for bypassing the block? I live in Egypt and I used to use other VPN using ovenpn over obfs to bypass the blocks but it made it unusable because of added latency and lost speed.

It's working but ping is a bit unstable

Does anybody know if Egypt is like some other countries that have stifled VPN usage in that VPN seems to work on some ISPs but on others they don't?
