connected to server yet my ip is fully exposed ?

Recommended Posts

Hello Airvpn,

I am connected through you yet my ip is revealed. Attached is an image showing I am connected and how I am seen on the net with my ip.

The only change I've made to my machine is I connect to my router wireless instead of a hard connection.

Also - after I login and select my server Sirius it takes nearly 5 minutes to connect to Sirius which until now only took a minute at most.

I would appreciate your help.

thanks

Hello!

Can you please send us the connection logs? Right-click on the Air dock icon, select "Logs" and click on "Copy to clipboard", then paste here.

Hi Airvpn,

Here is the log after I've connected through Sirius and confirmed my ip is visible.

thanks for your assistance.

Hello!

The TAP-Win32 interface does not come up.

Please make sure that it is installed and it has not been deactivated. Furthermore, make sure that the Air client is launched with administrator privileges and that the Windows DHCP (client) service is active. Please perform some tests with Windows firewall disabled (if you use the Windows firewall).

See also here: http://forums.openvpn.net/topic8441.html

and more importantly here:

http://forums.openvpn.net/topic8811.html

If you can't manage to bring up the TAP-Win32 adapter:

- completely uninstall OpenVPN;

- re-install OpenVPN 2.2.2 and make sure that you authorize it to install any driver it will ask you for

Kind regards

Edit - it worked for a few hours then stopped and I hadn't changed anything. Now it is again acting like it did where it can't load the TAP-Win32. The TAP adapter is in the system as displayed by device manager. I'll edit this posting when the problem is solved.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Thanks Airvpn - problem solved

After much sleuthing it was found to be Comodo related. Under the properties of the TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 it showed a Comodo Internet Security Firewall Driver - when I unchecked this box it worked. What remains a mystery is why it suddenly stopped working to begin with. I am not aware of an auto Comodo update that may have changed this setting and I've used Comodo since day one.

Anyway - all is fine for today !
