Hello!

I am an old AirVPN user. I am on a 100 mbit down, 20 mbit up connection. Since the first subscription to AirVPN my speed via Netherlands servers was at 90%, until today.

Now i'm stuck at Down: 12.500 Mbit/s Out, 19.010 Mbit/s

The upload speed seems ok in every condition/server, but the download not.

I have tried:

- change buffer sizes (256, 512 bytes)

- change all kind of combination of connection settings (UDP, TCP, SSL, SSH, different ports)

- try different servers (netherlands, sweden, switzerland)

- latest version of beta client

Nothing seems to work. I'm on 100mbit line, without AirVPN i'm at full speed. Any suggestions?

My system:

Win10 (up to date), standard Windows Defender (for now)

Hello!

How are you measuring your speeds?

Moderators do not speak on behalf of AirVPN. Only the Official Staff account does. Please also do not run Tor Exit Servers behind AirVPN, thank you.
Did you make a guide or how-to for something? Then contact me to get it listed in my new user guide's Guides Section, so that the community can find it more easily.

Hello!

The speed is detected via internal test (AirVPN speed test option) and via speedtest.net.

After playing around with another set of ports/protocols, the issue seems solved.

I was wrong. Every afternoon the speed goes down. The provider, contacted by telephone, said they would not discriminate against any protocol, even p2p. So what, any idea?

I run into the same problem every evening - the route to the VPN server is overloaded but other routes are just fine.  For me it's cogent's peering/transit with comcast.
