Is this normal?

Hi, I am new to vpn's but thought with the change in UK law recently I would try one out and airvpn came recommended.I have bought a 3 day pass to see how it works for me.

I just wondered if this is normal. I  have a 100mb connection which usually gives me speed of just over  113mb/sec. If  I turn airvpn on the speed drops to 37mbits/sec so just over a third of my normal speed.

Just wondered is around 37mb/second the maximum I can get through using airvpn?

Depends on many factors, such as your client device and the server you connect to.

The speeds you get could be higher, but what you currently get is fine if you measured it

with a single HTTP connection speed test.

The speed you can achieve depends a lot on the VPN and choices associated with it. You can try and increase your send and receive buffers to 256kb, in the Eddie preferences menus . There's tips in my guide as well - all you need.

 

There's many people who get extremely fast speeds with Air. It just takes a little tweaking sometimes.

 

It's good you decided to check out VPNs - especially due to your concerns (which are shared by us) regarding those UK laws.
