I am currently running Norton Anti-virus and with norton it takes over control of windows firewall. When I activate network lock I get no error, but if I purposely disconnect connection it does not lock out the network. Is there something I need to set up special with Norton to ensure that my connection gets locked?

I already had Eddie disconnect once in the middle of DL a torrent and I was exposed, how can I create more fail-safes for this?

Any help would be great.

Hello!

You either need to uninstall Norton or try adding airvpn and open.exe to Nortons exception list. Although I'd just download the Experimental version of the Eddie client instead, as it handles firewalling differently and should thus fix the problem. You can check my guide if you don't know where to find the Beta version.

Are we sure Norton doesn't interfere with WFP and the new Network Lock?

WFP is windows filtering platform, instead of windows firewall, so yes. Although of course local variations in hardware and software always plays a part haha . It's worth a try.

Same problem with AVG Internet Security with Firewall Active, and Eddie 2.10.3

But use qBittorrent for any bittorrent traffic, with Options/Advanced/Network Interface: Local Area Connection 4

which is the airvpn/openvpn tap which only exists when connected.

So unattended bittorrents are safe from mercenaries.

I don't think I have seen any problems noted by beta testers with various antivirus products, so far.

Wondering when the Eddie 2.11 will exit beta or get beta2 update, ... ???

Generally avoid "beta 1" of "mission critical" software.
