I started the 3 day trial of AirVPN to test out its port forwarding, if it worked well I was willing to switch over from PIA but after looking around for the past few days I could not find a guide for port forwarding AirVPN on pfSense 2.3 that would work for me. I would like to address that first but I also need a solution to my chromecast no longer works even though everything else on the network seems to work fine. If there is any other information required from me I would be more than happy to provide it.

Hello !

Whenever you can, it's good to post logs in spoiler tags too, when relevant. There's a tab in the AirVPN client, Eddie, that provides logs.

If you have other questions, you can also refer to the guide in my signature.

did you have port forwarding working for PIA?  If so you'll need to configure pfsense by the same method.  Just head to https://airvpn.org/ports/ to have Air assign you a forwarded port.  Usually you don't need to change any settings for the forwarded port.  Just click the add button.

I did not have port forwarding setup on PIA since they did not offer it within the VPN. I followed this guide https://nguvu.org/pfsense/pfsense-port-forward/ and this https://airvpn.org/topic/11245-how-to-set-up-pfsense-21-for-airvpn/page-6?do=findComment&comment=17580 . Neither of which worked for me, I followed the general setup guide for AirVPN on pfsense that worked fine except for the chromecast not being able to connect to the internet now.

forwarding ports from an openvpn interface to LAN client is the same no matter what VPN service is used.  therefore, I suggest you head to pfsense forums to ask for help.  I think you're more likely to get the right help there.  Relatively few people use pfsense in this forum.  I do, but I've never tried port forwarding.
