Eddie 2.7 / 2.8 (Linux Mint / Ubuntu / Debian) crashes on startup with logging enabled

Eddie 2.7 and 2.8; Linux Mint 17.1:

 

 From /user/bin, I invoked ./airvpn, which produced the following output:

 

Unhandled Exception:

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "/home/*/.airvpn/logs/airvpn_2015-01-07.log" is denied.

 

I fixed the problem by taking ownership of the logs directory (chown) and removing the logs. Quick fix, but could be troublesome for a novice user.

were you root or not when you invoked airvpn?

I was not root. Prior to today, though, it launched without elevated privileges.
