Remote Port Forwarding Problem

Hello,

 

I'm trying to remotely port forward a port but when I attempt to, the TCP Test says:

Not reachable on server IP over the external port xxxx, tcp protocol. Error : 110 - Connection timed out

 

I tried turning off my firewall completely but then I got this error instead.

Not reachable on server IP over the external port xxxx, tcp protocol. Error : 111 - Connection refused

 

Port forwarding was actually initially working (with the firewall on) for the first 10 minutes or so that I attempted it. When I restarted my computer, it stopped working...

 

Any ideas or suggestions?

Hello!

 

Ok, in the first case it was probably your firewall to drop packets. Once you have disabled the firewall, can you please make sure that the service listening to the forwarded port is running when the test is performed?

Yes, the service that was listening was running once the firewall was disabled.

if the service was listening to the correct port (please check), please try to shut it down and run the PortListener program, make it listen to the VPN IP (10...) and the correct port, in TCP, and perform the test again from your account Forwarded Ports panel. This first test will let us understand if TCP packets are correctly forwarded and reaching your system from the Internet.

 

If they do not, please tell us the VPN server your system was connected to.

 

Note: obviously PortListener must run on the same machine connected to a VPN server.
