Not connected, Your IP: 3.17.154.171

Logged in to a Netherlands server today and when I tried to connect to a well known P2P site got a warning message (attached) about possible violation of Googles Terms of Service. I was presented with a CAPTCHA but did not continue as I have no idea if this would breach security and reveal my true IP address. I am now connected via Serpentis and have had no such warning. has anyone eklse come across this? Is there a way around this or will I have to avoid this Netherlands server altogether?

Any help or tips would be helpful - I'm running Windows 7 Home premium.

Sorry everyone, just notice a topic "Google being suspicious" has already been started. I'm a newbie and am not sure how to link these two, but I'm going to try it.

Seems that the google being suspicious topic was started in July and has not yet been answered. I will re-post my query above in that topic and hopefully between the two some answers will be fortcoming.

Hello!

Serpentis is in Sweden, not in the Netherlands. Google displays that message when the search engine receives multiple queries from the same IP address according to a pattern which seems to identify a bot, an automated script or anything similar that sends non-manual queries.

Kind regards

Thanks for your reply - is it OK to submit the CAPTCHA then without risk to security? (I'm a newbie and a bit unsure about this)

You can use Startpage - it fetches results directly from Google, including regional searches and it claims to respect privacy. I completely stopped using Google because it's almost impossible to use it with Tor for the same reasons you mentioned (captchas and sorries:)). Another alternative for international searches - Duck Duck Go.
