  1. TLDR Issue: When port forwarding is enabled, traffic forwarded from the VPN is being return via the WAN. So it's going AirVPN -> pfsense via VPN -> server -> pfsense via WAN -> Clear Internet. Software: pfsense 2.7.2-RELEASE, Package: WireGuard 0.2.1. Server: ubuntu 22.04.03 LTS I'm reaching out to the community because I'm out of ideas on how to fix what's going wrong. I'm not a network or firewall guru, I'm tech savy but clearly not enough to resolve my issue 😧. I followed the pfSense baseline setup guide available at nguvu.org to configure my pfsense. While the guide primarily focuses on using OpenVPN for the VPN setup, I adapted the instructions to use WireGuard instead but clearly I've missed something or fundermentally misunderstanding something. When I configure port forwarding using AirVPN with WireGuard to pfSense to my VPN network to a sever, I can see on a TCPDump the the initial inbound packets from AirVPN that's being port forwarded reaches the server, but each reply seems to vanish when returned to the router. Using diag_packet_capture on pfsense, I can see the inbound traffic from AirVPN, but when the server replies, it's going out on the WAN interface. Clearly there's some sort of gateway issue. I even tried to pay someone on Fiverr to fix it but they couldn't see any reason for it, they're claming it's a software defect, but seeing other people have somehow managed to do it, must be possible. Have I missed something silly? The port: The Server: These are my rules so far: WAN: WireGuard: Floating: VL20_VPN: Note: Selective_Routing (or VPN whitelist) isn't set: Gateways: Port Forward: Outbound NAT
  2. Hello! I have a Win10 PC, with qBittorrent. I have been able to port forward successfully! However, I find that whenever I close qBittorent, and then open it back up later, the port is no longer open and says "Connection timed out (110)", so in the client I'm actually unable to download/upload/connect to peers. I did some research and found the fix for this on these forums (temporarily). Pretty much, I have to open my client, go to the advanced settings, Change it from "Eddie" for the Network Interface to "Any Interface". Then, close the client, open the client back up and then again change from "Any Interface" back to "Eddie", and it works again! I have to do this every time I close my qbit client/turn of PC. I do also confirm that the port on AirVPN's Client Area matches the one in qBitorrent. Then it works again, I'm connected/uploading/downloading and AirVPN's client area confirms that the port is Open. I would just rather not have to go to these steps everytime I close qbit. Could it be that I need to bind to an IP address/(an option I see in qbittorrent) IP address changing depending on the server that I join that makes this happen? Now, I'm not super knowledgeable in this area but I'm constantly trying to learn. So I don't know what I don't know.. If there is any additional information needed that I need to share to troubleshoot, please let me know. And thank you in advance for any help and suggestions.
  3. Hello, I've been trying to configure it for days and I don't know how to do it on my Windows 11, well I'll tell you what I'm doing. I am making a website like a forum where it is developed in vue js and I have nginx as a reverse proxy. Continuing, I read that you have to open the firewall ports and configure them with the ports provided by AIRVPN, well also in nginx, since the port and the dns in the .conf of nginx I tested it locally first and it works well for me, but the problem occurs when I want use the ports and DNS and I tried other operating systems like Linux Mint and it didn't work for me. Well, in short, what I want is to make my server on my local PC. I chose airvpn because it gives me a domain as a port and my internet provider does not allow it, so I investigated and they say that you can do that no matter what your internet provider does. I blocked my router. I hope I have made myself understood and thank you. If you know how to do it or configure it, tell me the steps. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
  4. Hello all, If I read and understand the forum correctly, I’m not the only one who is unable to set up a port forwarding with vpn. Because I have tried all sorts of things and cannot find a solution, I’m curious if there is someone who can help me out on this. What I want to do: I want to acces my NASserver and my Webcam from outside my network. This requires three ports. I chose Air vpn because they support port forwarding and I bought an Asus router (RT-AC66U) that has a vpn-server and that also has a vpn-client. My network configuration is set as follows: - modem / router from ISP (iprange 192.168.xxx.xxx) - behind it the Asus router (iprange 192.169.xxx.xxx) - WAN port Asus router is connected to LAN port of ISP - behind Asus router an additional router (sitecom) that serves as an "amplifier". These routers are connected by a cable between LAN. The sitecom router has a fixed IP address within the range of the Asus router. - DHCP from sitecom is switched off. Asus router controls the allocation of IP addresses and handling of internet traffic. This setup has always worked great (without VPN). After setting up a vpn-client, all computers, phones etc can acces the internet without any problems. The NASserver is able to make a backup via a built-in SSH to a server at a different location (outside LAN). It is no longer possible to access the NAS server from outside the LAN via http / ftp / sftp. I tried the following to get it working: - vpn server enabled / vpn client disabled - vpn server enabled & vpn client enabled - nasserver provided with ipadress within range of vpn-server - routes - Port forwarding set from VPN server to LAN and vice versa I don't get it working. Thanks in advance for your tips and help Kind regards, Ivo
  5. I'm attempting to host a Minecraft server on campus using the provided internet (we aren't allowed to purchase our own) and would like my friends outside campus to be able to connect but they cannot. I've tried to do port forwarding to allow this but it doesn't seem to be working no matter what I try. I can only connect to the server myself when running it locally (connecting to 127.0.0.1) and not when running it through the vpn. Any suggestions?
  6. Sorry everyone, noob here. I keep trying to add a random port to forward in the settings, and it adds it. But every time I check it with the button at the bottom it doesn't show green. Maybe I should wait a day or two? Or is it almost instant? Sorry if this is something I should know about, I've never really used ports before. (Also yes I've used the canyouseeme.org site, tells me no connection)

  8. I successfully setup port forwarding with multiple clients; plex, sabnzbd, nzbhydra. But can not get sonarr or radarr to work. They both work remotely through my public ip, with correct port, when vpn is not connected. But when vpn is active ports are not open when checked in airvpn port page or online checker. I am using Eddie. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks )
  9. As a noob regarding airvpn, setting up the connection both in windows 10 and on android was a breeze with the help of all the guides I found on this forum and all works smoothly as envisioned, apart from .....portforwarding. I've read as much as possible on the forum to try and resolve this riddle but unfortunately I can't get it to work at all. As recommended I've let the system choose an available portnumber for me and configured this on Emule in Options->connection in both fields of the client ports, and disabled UPnP. However, this didn't work. As far as I understood from the posts in the forum the problem seems to be firewall related and, indeed, the results from the TCP check on the client area/forwarded ports page do point in this direction. With eddy connected plus network lock and windows firewall (managed through the Windows Firewall Control app.) activated I'm getting Error 110 - connection timed out. With eddy connected plus network lock but windows firewall dis-activated I'm getting Error 111 - connection refused. But whatever I try, I can't get it to work. I've no idea what kind of firewall rule it needs precisely to get it to work. Could anyone please help me to solve this enigma? Thanks!
  10. Hello, just started using AIRVPN, everything works great. But now I need to portforward a program that needs two ports next to each other, e.g. 63662 and 63663. Portforwarding the first port works fine, but when I want to add 63663, the airvpn website says "Port 63663 already reserved by another user". When checking the ports, 63662 is open and 63663 is not so I cannot use the program.
  11. Hey I found a small typo and couldn't find any bug report section (maybe I'm just too sleepy to find it right now) and didn't want to bother the support with it. Since the bug I found this time isn't as critical and dangerous as the last one I'll just post it here. Typo@/ports/ -> #content > div.ipsBox > div > div.ipsVerticalTabbed_content.ipsLayout_content.ipsBox_container > div > form > div.message_error Even though I'm not English myself I'm pretty sure that it should be "or".
  12. Hi I have airvpn installed on PC whiich has web server running on port 80 I don't what to put on port forwarding page and what ip should I use to access the web server from outside world internet what should I use in picture is it 1 or 2? and does the other client from outside internet need to connect to airvpn too?
  13. Hey guys, here is my setup: I have port 80/443 forwarded to my little server at home with my home router, works great but after connecting to VPN it stops working and i'm unable to reach my server from outside over port 80/443, still works on my LAN though... Is it possible to be connected to VPN and still use local portforwards? Thx <3
  14. Hey, Ok so here is my problem: I have port 443/80 forwarded on my home router to a little server at home, after connecting to the VPN, I'm unable to reach it from outside. now here is my question: Is it possible to be connected to VPN and still be reachable from my private IP, and if so how? Thx <3
  15. Scenario We operate from a rural location where broadband speeds are around 0.5 - 1Mbit. We have the opportunity to use an EE 4G router where we can get very competitive pricing for a 40Mbit connection. The problem with this solution is that EE do not allow incoming traffic and that gives us problem accessing our server for connections to HTTP, HTTPS, RDP and CCTV cameras etc. Idea The idea is to place a router that has a VPN client installed in it behind the EE router to connect to an AirVPN server. All the network computers would in turn, connect via the router to the internet via the VPN. In effect this gives us a public IP address we can connect to (preferably static but not essential) enabling us to connect to our server as the VPN router effectively punches through the EE restrictions. Question If I go with this idea, would I be able to forward ports such as 80,443, 3389 to my local server? Having read https://airvpn.org/faq/port_forwarding/ for the ports below 2048 I believe I'll have to do something like 3080 > 80 and 3443 > 443 etc? Is my theory correct? I want to have all my ideas and conclusions in place before opting to go down this route as there is a significant outlay and commitment in terms of cost: 24 month EE contract - £41 per monthRouter - £85AirVPN subscription 54€Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Paul.
  16. Hello! Signed up for an account here today, and I've since been trying to get AirDC++ to work properly. Before I got VPN, I used ports 54321 TCP, 54323 UDP and 900 TLS/TCP. I've read the FAQ and the p2p port tutorial thingy, but I just can't get it to work. The ports won't show up green no matter what. I am completely new to the whole VPN thing, and I just don't understand what to do I've used ports that are open in my router as ports and/or local ports. I've tried closed ports. I think I've tried all kinds of combinations, but It just won't work. I can't search in hubs with AirDC I'm sure it's really something super easy, but could someone please point me in the right direction?! Thanks in advance!
  17. Hello, I am trying to setup port forwarding but apparently it is not working. I managed to forward one port to a linux box in my network, but I cant do the same with Mac OS X and transmission. Before using tunnelblick to connect to air VPN, transmission bt reports the port as open. But after connecting to airvpn the port is reported closed. Do I need some additional settings on Mac OS X to make port forwarding work? Thanks
