    Hello,

we don't know which account the writer refers to: the account he/she is writing from has been created very recently, has no tickets history and no subscriptions. All the personal information of an account (if any) are deleted within 30 days after the request according to the Tos and the Privacy Notice. If a totally unverified account owner writing in the forum can undermine our reputation with an old time customer like you, then we should evaluate to not approve posts with claims that we can't verify, but it's a practice that we would like to avoid if possible.

EDIT - UPDATE: we have just checked that all account personal information requests for deletion have been accomplished as usual, except one, which anyway was requested a few days ago (so there is still a lot of time to satisfy this request - assuming that personal data have been entered).

We would therefore rule out any human error by the person responsible for the treatment of personal data and we confirm that deletion of personal data has been going on regularly as usual in the last five years. As we always did, we anyway recommend that you do not put any personal data in your account during registration in the first place, this a normal and obvious principle of prudence which also makes irrelevant our policy about deletion of personal data. If any mistake is made during the registration process by a user, we're here to assist as we always did in five years.

    Kind regards

This 4th of July we're teaming up with BestVPN.com to bring you a fantastic Independence Day offer, as well as the chance to win a 13” MacBook Air!

We’re providing you with a 30% discount on the day (UTC), and 10% off until August 4th. To claim these great offers, and take part in their competition, just head over to their VPN Coupons page.

BestVPN, arguably the best VPN comparison website around, has also launched a brand new website in order to celebrate this great day. In our opinion it is very important that BestVPN.com is one of the VPN reviews web sites that never asked us for payments for their reviews, which is a paramount requisite for an unbiased review.

We are very proud of the fact that they have recently voted AirVPN the most secure VPN provider around.

    Hello,

it's not necessary to control your machine. Anyway this is just talking about gender of angels since AirVPN setup has the same IP address for VPN DNS server and VPN gateway and the attack can't even start.

Let me tell anyone a few things:

    1. I have NO ip leak. Tested on dnsleak.org advanced search, only AirVPN is shown.
    2. I have UNLIMITED bandwith while on VPN
    3. I have UNLIMITED country changes
    4. I have FULL SPEED on VPN (3mb/s down and 1mb/s upload)
    5. I have an OPEN-SOURCE(!!!!!!) client software, hell NO ONE offers that except AirVPN
    6. I have PORT-FORWARDING
    7. I have a Speed-test of Airvpn testing in and outside tunnel
    8. I have an account that last 762 days and for the CHEAP price of 54€/year I extend every year for sure
    9. I have a CONFIG GENERATOR for ALL platforms

You complain about AirVPN? Show me ANY other provider that can offer the same quality for  the same price. There is none. AirVPN is the best, POINT.
I trust AirVPN more than any other provider because its EU based and they TALK to us. They inform us about every step behind the scene. They not sit down and count the money, they look forward and take of things before they happened. I've been a member for more than a year. I've never regret this membership, it was one of the best decisions in my life. If you want freedom and security for a FAIR price, go for AirVPN. You don't trust my words? Fine, compare with other providers and decide on your own like I did. AirVPN is worth the money, you will find out on your own.

I also agree that AirVPN is not vulnerable.
Even for those who don't use Eddie and network locks.

For the second attack (IPv6 leak) to happen, the user must have a routable IPv6 address to begin with.
According to surveys only 10% of users do have it, and this % is probably much lower on "Shared" systems
like public hot-spots where this attack vector can take place.

If you just have a link-local IPv6 in your system, it doesn't mean that you can start sending AAAA DNS queries.
I am not sure why it is not mentioned in the paper.

It wasn't long ago when the only thing you got after signing up with any vpn provider was config files.
Client side security was the responsibility of the user.

Staff got a reaction from Artful Dodger in IPv6 Leakage and DNS Hijacking - AirVPN not vulnerable   ...
    Hello!

AirVPN is not vulnerable to DNS hi-jacking because VPN DNS server and gateway IP addresses match.

The paper is outdated because their tests were performed on VPN servers with a /30 topology that we kept to maintain compatibility with Windows OpenVPN 2.0.9 and some older versions. After the draft paper preview they kindly provided us with months ago, we decided to speed up Windows OpenVPN 2.0.9 support drop, which made sense in 2010 but not now.

Current topology allows to have the same IP address for VPN DNS server and VPN gateway, solving the vulnerability at its roots, months before the publication of the paper.

Unfortunately they could not manage to fix the paper, purely for problems of time we suppose, which remained outdated.

The quickest way to prevent IPv6 leaks with our service is just enabling Network Lock with a click, for those who don't want to disable IPv6. You can also disable IPv6 with a click, provided that you run our client Eddie for Windows or OS X (version 2.9 or higher is required; feature not available in Eddie for Linux).

EDIT: we wish now to underline that since 2018 we also support IPv6 and IPv6 over IPv4.

    Kind regards

You provide Remote Port Forwarding, what is it?

"Remote port forwarding" forwards traffic coming from the Internet to our VPN server ports to a specified local port of your client.

By default, your account has no forwarded ports, and this is good as long as you don't wish to have a service reachable from the Internet. For example, suppose that you want to run a web server behind our VPN, or that you wish to receive incoming connections to your BitTorrent client in order to improve p2p performance, or to seed a file. Without at least one remotely forwarded port, your service could not be reached from the outside, because our VPN server would reject the proper packets to your service.

Usually this is a good security measure against attacks, but it prevents your services to be reached from the Internet.

When you remotely forward an inbound port, our servers will open that port (TCP, UDP or both, according to your selection) and will properly forward incoming packets to you on that port. The service will be reachable from the exit-IP address of the VPN server your system is connected to.

You can forward up to 20 ports simultaneously. You can do that on our website, in your account "Client Area". You can't forward ports lower than 2048.

You can map a remotely forwarded port to a different local port: this is useful for a variety of cases, for example when your service listens to a port lower than 2048 or when the port is already reserved. More details about it here below.

Once you reserve an inbound remote port for your account, you have two options:

    1) Leave the "Local" field empty. In this case, packets arriving to the VPN server exit-IP address port n will be forwarded to your machine IP address inbound local port with the very same number n

    2) Fill in the "Local" field with a different port number x. In this case packets arriving to port n will be forwarded to your system inbound local port x.

In both cases you need to reach the service on the VPN server exit-IP address port n.

IMPORTANT: do NOT forward on your router the same ports you use on your listening services while connected to the VPN. Doing so exposes your system to correlation attacks and potentially causes unencrypted packets to be sent outside the tunnel from your client. However, if you connect a router (for example DD-WRT, Tomato based firmware router) an additional step is required, please see https://airvpn.org/topic/9270-how-to-forward-ports-in-dd-wrt-tomato-with-iptables/
NOTE: you can't reach your listening service(s) through the VPN server exit-IP address from the very same machine that's running it/them and is connected to a VPN server, or from any other machine connected to that same VPN server.

AIRVPN DOES NOT RECOGNIZE ANYMORE VERISIGN, AFILIAS AND ICANN AUTHORITY. OUR COMMITMENT AGAINST UNITED STATES OF AMERICA UNFAIR AND ILLEGAL DOMAIN NAMES SEIZURES.

The United States of America authorities have been performing domain names seizures since the end of 2010. The seizures have been performed against perfectly legal web-sites and/or against web-sites outside US jurisdiction.

Administrators of some of those web-sites had been previously acquitted of any charge by courts in the European Union.

The domain name seizures affect the world wide web in its entirety since they are performed bypassing the original registrar and forcing VeriSign and Afilias (american companies which administer TLDs like .org, .net, .info and .com) to transfer the domain name to USA authorities property. No proper judicial overview is guaranteed during the seizure.

Given all of the above, we repute that these acts:

    - are a violation of EU citizens fundamental rights, as enshrined in the European Convention on Human Rights;
    - are an attack against the Internet infrastructure and the cyberspace;
    - are a strong hint which shows that decision capacities of USA Department of Justice and ICE are severely impaired;

and therefore from now on AirVPN does not recognize VeriSign, Afilias and/or ICANN authority over domain names. AirVPN refuses to resolve "seized" domain names to the IP address designated by USA authorities, allowing normal access to the original servers' websites / legitimate Ip addresses.

In order to fulfil the objective, we have put in place an experimental service which is already working fine. If you find anomalies, please let us know, the system will surely improve in time.

    Kind regards
