huckfinn 1 Posted ... I am new to AirVPN and VPNs in general. Last night I was able to connect to the service using my home computer without any problems. Today I am trying to connect using my office computer which passes through a network squid proxy but I have not been successful. As I looked at the programs installed by AirVPN I see that there are two: OpenVPN GUI and Air VPN. Both have settings for proxies. I've tried a combination of settings but nothing seems to work. AirVPN proxy setting activated + OpenVPN proxy setting activated (system settings)- Connection fails almost immediately. Staff 10082 Posted ... Hello! You need to use TCP to connect to a proxy: just pick a TCP port. Socks and http proxies do not support UDP. Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
huckfinn 1 Posted ... Ok, now it works. Thanks! I have configured both the AirVPN and OpenVPN for connection through the proxy. Then when I open the connection, I chose a TCP port. It takes a bit of time to complete the connection (much longer than when I connect from home), but it works. The unexpected bonus is that I can configure one browser (i.e., Firefox) to use the company proxy so I'm using my company network and another browser/program (i.e., Chrome, uTorrent) to not use the company proxy and these pass through the VPN. So I can do two things at the same time. Very nice. Thanks again! 1 Staff reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post
