Steffene 0 Posted ... Hello, I'm using the "Client Area" to connect the VPN servers. I want to disconnect it entirely and be connected on my home internet. I press the "disconnect now" it says "disconnecting pending", but when I refresh the page or pressing config generator for.example it say "connected" again. When can I be 100% sure I'm disconnected? Staff 10336 Posted ... Hello, please disconnect (or stop) OpenVPN or the OpenVPN wrapper you run. The web site button "Disconnect Now" is meant for emergency, forced disconnections. If you use it in this way, your client can try a re-connection after it is forcefully disconnected by the server. Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
Steffene 0 Posted ... "Wrapper" was unknown for me. You mean the service? Quote Share this post Link to post
Staff 10336 Posted ... Hello, an OpenVPN wrapper is a software that sends commands etc. to OpenVPN, often through a graphical user interface for comfort purposes. Examples: the Air client for Windows, OpenVPN GUI, Tunnelblick... All the wrappers have a handy "Disconnect" button or option that you can use to safely disconnect your system from the VPN server. If you use OpenVPN directly, you can simply send a soft kill command to the process, or just interrupt it (CTRL-C). If you run OpenVPN as a service, you can stop the service. Steffene 0 Posted ... Thanks for the quick support and answer, much appreciated. Didn't see the OpenVPN GUI, where I could disconnect from. Quote Share this post Link to post
