Say if the OpenVPN connection drops and has to be re-established for whatever reason, I have heard that TCP does not throw me back onto the regular internet whereas UDP does. Is this true?

Thanks.

StrongVPN seems to be touting this as a feature of OpenVPN in TCP mode (see http://strongvpn.com/compare.shtml Point 3 under OpenVPN). I am just trying to understand the technical justification of their statement. Any clarification is appreciated.

Hello,

in all honesty it seems misleading, you might like to ask them, how are we supposed to clarify that...?

Kind regards

Hello!

Your OpenVPN client handles routing table and default gateway exactly in the identical way regardless of the 'connection' being over UDP or TCP (in routing mode).

Kind regards
