Using AirVPN with Ubuntu (12.04)

[urbanconcrete 17]

Hey, i had some problems with running Air VPN with Ubuntu 12.04.

I could not connect...the problem was the .ovpn file.

The tutorial (https://airvpn.org/linux/) didn´t work for me.

I had create myself the ca.cert, user.cert and the .key with the information’s in the .ovpn file, rename it to .conf and insert the location of the certificates and the key file.

Just that short, a longer HowTo maybe later...

Hello!

You are right. In the future, if you need separate certificates, key and configuration files, in the configuration generator select the option "Advanced Mode" and tick the box "Separate keys/certs from .ovpn file". OpenVPN works just fine with embedded files, but network-manager for Linux does not support them. The Linux instructions will be updated soon.

In the meantime please see here for new services and features that have been recently added:

Thanks so much- I didn't see that option either, but downloading the 4 files worked really well for Lucid 10.04

Fixed Firestarter issues using

http://www.howtoadvice.com/FirestarterVPN ( used gedit instead of nano )

Everything works perfectly
