Port Forwarding not working

Im a bit confused, when I go to the AirVPN client area, and open a port. I then check if said port is open on one of the many available sites, and that port isn't open.... can anyone explain to me what the hell is going on?

Holy moly whack a moly, from you description the outcome seems correct and expected, apparently (again from your description) you missed entirely to configure and run any listening program, can you clarify?
