Virginis: Fiber cut & router problems from upstream provider affecting Spain, France and Mexico

Hello!

We have been notified that Cogent Communications is having problems with a router and a fiber cut. Cogent is a tier1 provider of Virginis datacenter in Bern.

As a consequence (from Cogent Communications):

Customers in France and Spain may be experiencing connectivity issues at this time due to a router software error. Our NOC is investigating and working to resolve these issues; there is no ETR at this time. Additionally, customers in Mexico may be experiencing an outage due to a suspected fiber cut. We are working with our carrier to isolate and repair this break; there is no ETR at this time.

While Cogent works to solve the problems (as you see, no ETR is possible), we recommend our customers from Spain, France and Mexico not to use Virginis.
