DrKillere 0 Posted ... AirVPN detected "consent.exe" as a virus and quarentined it. Now i can't open any .exe file, i can't open task manager, i can't install anything, because i can't access the administrator. I tried copying and pasting consent.exe from another Windows 11 PC, but i need the administrator permission to paste files in System32. What do I do to restore "consent.exe"? None of the AirVPN programs function as antivirus software and can never quarantine a file: AirVPN programs lack any code designed for that purpose. Could you please explain this matter in more detail? Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
Tech Jedi Alex 1489 Posted ... You're probably infected with something and read some message about consent.exe from a malicious program, misattributing it to Eddie due to colors, fonts, or the like. It's possible that whatever it was replaced consent.exe with its own version and is now quietly allowing malicious actions from whatever you're infected with while generally retaining the functionality of UAC (or maybe those yes/no questions are now a front and it actually allows any action from any program; easier to implement in a malware, I believe). In any case, save your most valuable data and nuke your drives. Then reinstall Windows. Quote Hide Tech Jedi Alex's signature Hide all signatures NOT AN AIRVPN TEAM MEMBER.
