How to improve download speed - given these speedtest.net results

using speedtest.net

download speed = 25mbps upload speed = 4mbps

with airvpn

download speed = 5mbps upload speed = 3.5mbps

I tried port forwarding but it didn't seem to work, (stayed gray)

any suggestions? - I have read the FAQs already

Hello!

For a better speed test without relying on external services which insert a bias in the outcome, please use http://speedtest.air while you are connected to an Air VPN server.

In order to make performance comparisons, try a connection toward port 53 UDP and 80 TCP, just in case your ISP performs port shaping. Also, check your client connection logs for packet loss or packet fragmentation (if in doubt, do not hesitate to send them to us).

Think you could have used forum search first, since there must be 100 threads by now with people crying about slow speeds.

In the first place, maybe switch to UDP if you've not done so already.

Then make sure there is no traffic shaping or port specific speed reduction from your ISP.

Most importantly, use the server that is closest to your location.

If you're in US and use an EU server, I guess up to 80% speed reduction can be acceptable.
