problems logging in to certain servers

Hello,

I have problems loggin in to certain servers. On startup I have OpenVPN log into Ophiuchi and that's usually working. But when I log off and then try to log into other servers (using OpenVPN) I only get a connection to a few of them. Some others don't work.

I setup COMODO and OpenVPN according to the info I found here, but I must admit that I am not familiar with the specifics of the whole connection topic, so please help me as detailed as you can (or ask questions as specific as possible).

I am running WIN7-Ultimate (64 bit) with SP1. I also run COMODO, Malawarebyte's AntiMalware and MS Essentials.

Following is a log of what shows up in the OpenVPN window (I inserted the lines with the server names).

Something is blocking UDP packets to some of our servers. It may be Malwarebytes, which is known to block indiscriminately thousands of IP addresses (including the IP address of our main frontend), please try to disable it and re-test the connections.

I will give it a try, but I had "blocking of websites" in Anti-Malware set to "OFF".

In another post I read something about not getting logged off properly so that the next server thinks I am still logged in at another server. Could that have something to do with my problem?

Hello!

No, it's unrelated. In that case you would notice an AUTH_FAILED message in the logs. Your logs, on the contrary, show that the UDP packets don't even get out of your device. If it's not Malwarebytes, there must be something else blocking them in your machine. Please note that switching Blocking websites to OFF might not be sufficient (it depends on what Malwarebytes means for blocking websites), because here we see an IP block.

Hi,

the problem occurred again. I was connected to one server. Then I wanted to switch to another one, so I disconnected and then tried to connect to the next one. This didn't work. I then terminated AntiMalware and also switched off Microsoft Security Essentials. After that I tried to connect to the server again, but no success. The second one didn't work either. Only the third one (Aquiliae) worked.

In case I need to verify or change any setting on my PC then please let me know where exactly. Other than COMODO I am not aware of any other program that might interfere with the connection. Would a screenshot of the task manager help in any way (if so, which tabs)?

Hello!

Yes, that confirms what you were told, unfortunately there's something in your machine that blocks UDP packets toward some IP addresses. Until you don't find the "guilty" program you will always have the problem. Try to boot with a minimal setup, no third-party programs etc., and try UDP connections. Then start re-enabling your programs one by one, each time trying an UDP connection, until you find the responsible one.
