ANSWERED Using Windows 10 Home, Eddie is invisible.

Recommended Posts

I just installed the latest version of Eddie on my Windows 10 machine. The system is up to date, I'm not running any special communications software and disabled my secondary display. When I start up Eddie, the splash screen appears and then goes away and then nothing. The only time I've seen this is on Linux when Eddie starts on my second display, but it's easily fixed by disabling the unused monitor. This time I get nothing. Eddie is still running in the task manager but I can't do a thing because it's completely invisible. I did recently update my NVidia graphics card, and I'm running in 1080p with little issues other than this. Any clues?

I'm using Windows 10 Home on a Dell Inspiron 3670 with 12gb ram. Intel Core i5-8400. Nvidia GTX-1050

Thanks for your time.

Hello!

Can you please check whether Eddie starts minimized and its tray icon is somewhere in the system tray? Please make sure you can see hidden icons too by clicking the "up" arrow on the system tray. Eddie may start minimized if it configured to do so. Its tray icon is a tiny cloud in a circle. By double-clicking it, Eddie main window should pop-up.

You can tell Eddie not to start minimized by unchecking "Start minimized" in "Preferences" > "General" window.

Kind regards

Okay yes it's in the system tray. I swear I didn't see it there before. Thanks for the lesson.

Have a good week.
