Your VPN IPv4

If you login to your AirVPN member area, and then click on an active session, you'll see "Your VPN IPv4".  Well, at least I do.  I'm assuming this is universal, it'll be a 10.x.x.x address.  My question is twofold; what is this, and can this address be used to create "allow" rules in Windows Firewall as an allowed custom local address?  I know the address is an internal address, as is anything that starts with 10.x, but what does it do?  It doesn't seem to be server independent.  Also, if I create that allow rule, using that custom local address, and block all others, it seems to create a sort-of de-facto killswitch wherein only a VPN connection is allowed.  Is that right?  I'm using the WFP killswitch as well, but it's nice to have two methods.

This is a case that differs from having two ice creams instead of one. First, you need to consider the evaluation order of the Windows Filtering Platform rules, because Network Lock and you will both modify the WFP. By experience we see that in some cases Windows users mixing Network Lock and own rules by interacting directly with the WFP end up breaking Network Lock and exposing their system either to overblocking or leaks. Anyway if you know what you're doing of course you can even define entirely your own Network Lock. Keep in mind that if Eddie re-writes the WFP after you have enforced your rules, you will have to assess the new set.

It's more like putting hot bacon inside a waffle cone, then vanilla ice cream into it. The bacon will melt the ice cream, then fat and cream will leak through the cone. No matter if you're trying to eat it or clean it up, it'll be a mess.
