flat4 82 Posted ... This is not a airvpn issue as what I currently have is working but need some advice. My firewall is a pfsense box and its been working for many years no issues. I have forwarded ports (thank you air) that are operational. I recently discovered that if a tracker is using UDP to transfer or to call out I get nothing. If the tracker uses tcp it works. At first I thought it might be the client I so I got a seedbox to test, its not the client because it had no problems. I have poured thru the firewall logs and cannot find were it blocking any udp so anyone else have a suggestions on what could be the issue. Both the airvpn port forward and my firewall rules allow tcp and udp. Quote Hide flat4's signature Hide all signatures pFsense it works Share this post Link to post

This reminds us of an ancient qBittorrent bug that could be caused by libtorrent. Do you run any torrent software based on libtorrent? If so which version? This bug was allegedly fixed years ago... https://forum.qbittorrent.org/viewtopic.php?t=4342 Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post

It's not linked against libtorrent (its backend is libTransmission) so our previous speculation is wrong. To discern whether it is a Transmission specific problem, have you tested other torrent software with the same torrents? Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
flat4 82 Posted ... Yes I have using the latest qbittorent version 5 same tracker same story its odd, Like I said it not a air issue could be a firewall issue I just have not found the culprit. I have even tried just using UDP on my airvpn forward port still same results. Quote Hide flat4's signature Hide all signatures pFsense it works Share this post Link to post
flat4 82 Posted ... I wanted to update this post. Still have the same issue with my bittorrent client. My network is setup has 4 different vlans one of the vlans is dedicated to vpn and anything on it is using the tunnel. The torrent client is on the this vlan and for the most part nzb and torrents work except for this particular tracker. Another vlan is setup for guest and has less restrictions and does not touch the other vlans. So as a test i have one pc on the guest vlan installed eddie started up with network lock connected. I installed qbittorrent and transmission clients and down loaded a torrent from the tracker i am having issues and both clients worked. No port forwarding configured for this and each client downloaded the torrent. One of the things I notice is that my speed on the vpn vlan is really slow. In eddie I had the details open and noticed that my speed here at 383 down from the Netherlands. so i need to look more into my pfsense setup since i proved that theres not issue with the tracker. Thanks for letting me vent. Quote Hide flat4's signature Hide all signatures pFsense it works Share this post Link to post
flat4 82 Posted ... Update, after having abysmal speeds, i went ahead an generated a config for a specific server rather than a country. and like night and day the speed improved greatly. Quote Hide flat4's signature Hide all signatures pFsense it works Share this post Link to post
