Every couple of days i have to login into my pfsense firewall and set the endpoint to new server because the previous ones keep failing. Pretty frustrating. In the last 12 months it appears that Singapore datacenters are "cursed": a major fiber cut, various server hardware failures (now Hydra motherboard is gone, for example), various power outages... We operate servers in two separate datacenters, we will assess the situation in the near future. Kind regards 1 nestegg101 reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post

I am glad that AirVPN is monitoring the situation in Singapore. You are right, there have been a slew of incidents with the Singapore servers for quite a long time now. It is not a good thing for users who rely on them, especially those who require 24/7 VPN tunnels which means the longer the uptime the better. There is also another reliability issue I would like to report with the Singapore servers. In my long experience with them, the connection seems to rather frequently suffer brief periods of dropouts with some dropouts happening at almost the same time each day while others are more random. Some of the servers exhibit this tendency more than others. This has been my observation. I hope AirVPN will make a decision to greatly improve the Singapore servers' reliability after the assessment soon. Quote Share this post Link to post
nestegg101 3 Posted ... @Staff May I know if there are any updates on improving the Singapore servers? Over the weekend, Antares was down for well over two days: Subsequently, Auriga and Luyten went down and are still down at the time of this post: I was connected to Auriga at the time it went down and there were no indications at all. My router client and Eddie could still reconnect to the server multiple times even though no internet was available after the connection was made. It was only after around 30 minutes before I had an alert and found the discrepancy and manually switched to another server. Would appreciate an update on how the situation is being handled. Thanks. The problem was that some IP address(es) was/were null routed on the datacenter. 29 minutes ago, nestegg101 said: Subsequently, Auriga and Luyten went down and are still down at the time of this post: They both suffer of severe networking problems (destinations unreachable intermittently). We are waiting for datacenter assistance. It could be an attack, although not a flood. Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
nestegg101 3 Posted ... @Staff Hi, Barely two weeks have passed and both Antares and Luyten are once again down for extended periods. Do the servers in Singapore, in particular Antares, need such frequent and extended maintenance? Quote Share this post Link to post
