ANSWERED Stuck in a broken route, never connects

Recommended Posts

Hi, I recently bought AirVPN and I have got it to work just fine on both my phone and Chromebook, but my main PC hasn't been able to connect.

Some notable details are that I'm on a college network, but ExpressVPN works fine (in fact, the logs say AirVPN uses something from ExpressVPN). I've tried some basic stuff (restart, uninstall, etc) but I think people who actually know what they are doing will need to help me. Here's the logs:

Hello!

The Express VPN interface causes a critical error to OpenVPN:

Quote

. 2023.08.29 21:02:52 - Using WinTun network interface "Local Area Connection (ExpressVPN TUN Driver)"
...
. 2023.08.29 21:02:53 - OpenVPN > There are no TAP-Windows nor Wintun adapters on this system.  You should be able to create an adapter by using tapctl.exe utility.

Tell Eddie to ignore any alien interface:
  • Select from Eddie's main window Preferences > Networking,
  • write eddie in the "VPN interface name" field
  • click Save.

You may also consider to switch to WireGuard to bypass the alien interface. You can do it in Preferences > Protocols window. Uncheck Automatic, select a WireGuard connection mode and click Save.

Kind regards

This worked, thank you!
