qBit Connection Turns Green on AirVPN Test

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

So I have Unraid > Docker > qBitorrent.
I have a port forward on AirVPN and set that as the port in qBit.
Turned off UPnP and uTP.
With that, I have qBit using AirVPN for its connection and I've used ipleak.net to confirm it's working correctly.

My question is this: The little icon for connection in qBit is a red flame (meaning it isn't an open connection).
However, if I go to the AirVPN client area > test port, the IPv4 port shows open and my qBit icon instantly turns from red flame to green planet (open connection) and stays green from then on.

Can anyone explain to me why this is happening? What about the test "opens" the port and what else can I do to get it open in the first place?

Thank you!

Hello!

The icon status change is triggered by the first unsolicited packet reaching qBittorrent. If you don't perform the test and you start seeding or sharing some torrent file, you should see the icon turning green at the first incoming connection (it may require some time if the torrent is very well seeded).

Kind regards
