Rich Z 0 Posted ... This just cropped up this evening. Ben chasing my tail till I thought of loading up Eddie to see if that made a difference. Well, it DID. The only way I can now access the internet on my laptop is if Eddie is running. Tried it on and off several times in case I was just losing my mind, but yep, that positively is what is happening now. I don't use Eddie all that frequently, but It sure seems that it has turned hostile on me DEMANDING that it be running on my laptop, otherwise I go incommunicado on the internet. This is the first time I have seen this problem. Did all the usual stuff by powering down and then back on the router, cable modem, and the laptop itself. But still, it NEEDS to have Eddie running otherwise it just cuts itself off from the internet. Windows 10 machine on Comcast cable modem and router. Any ideas on what is causing this and how I can fix it? BTW, I am using version 2.21.8 of Eddie. I am also using a desktop and another laptop without any issues. They happily connect to the internet without any issues. All using the same version. This laptop was working fine up till this evening. Nothing has changed on the laptop that I am aware of. Staff 9972 Posted ... @Rich Z Hello! Maybe Eddie was not shut down cleanly and it did not restore system's DNS settings. When this happens, the problem can be resolved by re-running Eddie and shutting it down properly. If the problem persists, please check manually your system's DNS settings and verify that public DNS are set. Quad9 (9.9.9.9) and DNS.Watch (84.200.69.80) are committed to privacy and neutrality. OpenNIC is an excellent choice as well. If necessary, consult your system's manual or any guide showing how to set or change DNS in WIndows 10, e.g. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-change-your-pcs-dns-settings-windows-10 If the problem still persists after all of the above, please open a ticket to receive dedicated support. fridaynet 1 Posted ... It happened on my Mac laptop. I had to delete DNS server in system network config. Quote Share this post Link to post
