Blocked from connecting to any VPN server

Recommended Posts

I am new to airvpn. I am trying to connect to the VPN through a very restricted network(my schools) but everytime I connect it fails to connect. When I do it on my home network it is all fine. I have tried using both ssh and ssl. Someone suggested that I make it so all traffic is routed through the VPN I have not figured out how to, so if you have any suggestions on that or a better way it would be greatly appreciated.

Try TCP on port 80 or 443, and connect using IP addresses to avoid DNS-based blocks.

Then I don't understand this suggestion. All traffic is routed through the tunnel by default.

Ok, it sounds like that is not the problem. Do you know how I would fix the problem of it never connecting on my schools internet. I have tried both Eddie and OpenVPN connect. Thanks.

As there are no logs (Eddie: system report instead) to work with, no observations can be made. Try a connection, then:.

Something drops the connection, but it looks like the first response packet comes through? Signs of a DPI firewall that needs to be circumvented.
Try both TCP 80 and TCP 443, the log still indicates you're using UDP - as OpenSorcerer suggested

No, I did not ask for a log file, I asked for a system report. It includes the logs and various other configs of Eddie and the system to look at their settings and such.

As Mr. Stalinium remarks, you are still using UDP. The setting can be changed in Preferences > Protocols. Untick Automatic, then you can select the ports below.
