I've read several places that Ipblocks, Iplists, Peer Guardian, etc. serve no useful function at all and that VPN is a far safer solution. Would the forum members agree with this?

Those apps have been my friends for many years and it's not easy to give them up.

Yes, I would agree. These blocklist services provide some rudimentary protection, but their blocklists do not cover all possible sniffer IPs, and some nasty firms even employ IP sniffers that are in third countries (so even blocking all IPs in your home country does not protect your privacy). What's worse, some of these blocklists even block the AirVPN servers.

So it seems much better to use a VPN service like AirVPN instead of these blocklist programs.

(Or you could use AirVPN and run a blocklist program *on top* of that, but then you need to make sure that the blocklist does not block the AirVPN server....)
