pedro1 1 Posted ... Does port forwarding work with IPv6 addresses? I am only able to obtain direct connections on my Torrent client when I disable IPv6 on Eddie's options. On the web interface on https://airvpn.org/ports/ only IPv4 addresses appear. Does port forwarding also work over IPv6? Quote Share this post Link to post
Staff 10015 Posted ... Hello! We're sorry, inbound port forwarding currently does not work in IPv6. Kind regards 1 pedro1 reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post

Stalinium 49 Posted ... (edited) Is the official response really accurate? I'm seeing inbound connections via VPN both on IPv4 and IPv6, TCP/UDP, one port checker I found confirms this ("Open Port Check Tool", Jesin's Blog). No other port on the IPv6 is open (although technically it's not an issue unlike with IPv4). The port-forwarding works for me with the regular OpenVPN GUI client on Windows. I've started using AirVPN this year. Edited ... by Stalinium Quote Share this post Link to post
PhP@KTF 0 Posted ... I understand what you mean and you could be right but not sure as the IPv6 provided to the VPN client is an ULA IP. The question now is to know if this ULA IP is mapped 1:1 to a public IP where all ports would be totally transfered. My 1st question was based on an IPv4 thinking with the fact my VPN is hosted by my FW for my whole LAN and then an /64 (or even /48) subnet delegation would have been great.
