Google claims quantum computing breakthrough

Recommended Posts

Of that article? Nothing in particular, it says "something was achieved" while omitting what it was :D I've heard similar reports in March, I must admit.

My current understanding is that the error rate of those qubits is way too high (something around 3%, or 10%, not sure anymore) and that quantum computers require some serious energy input, too much for practical applications. But it's true that they have the power to crack our most trusted classical cryptography in a very convenient time, although I also must say that researchers already developed a few methods of quantum cryptography.

For more... I'll need to find my source again. Somewhere in the bookshelf here :(

Hello!

We offer WireGuard with per-client pre-shared key for post-quantum resistance, so we're ready, in the extremely unlikely event that a powerful quantum computer could work effectively during our life time. WireGuard pre-shared key is offered by default, you don't need any specific action.

Kind regards
