blueseven 0 Posted ... For some time, I've been trying to better my connectivity on private trackers, but each time I try, I either get frustrated beyond all recognition and quit or screw up royally and have to resort to switching back to factory settings or having to reinstall everyone outright Could anyone give me a "For dummies" guide on how to do port forwarding through a VPN? I've tried searching here on the forums for one, but there's a lot of terminology I don't fully understand. Can anyone give me some assistance? If you need any further info, feel free to chime in. LZ1 672 Posted ... Hello! Frustration is normal. You can go to the New User guide in my signature and then scroll to the guides section, to find guidance on configuring torrent clients like qBittorent . When you find a port that works, enter that port # into qBittorrent. From what I've read, these are the best ports to use for port forwarding. Good luck. Quote Share this post Link to post

However, I'm still getting an error saying "Not reachable on server IP over the external port 63***, tcp protocol, Error 110: connection timed out" I've tried this with 3 other ports all within that number range all giving me the same error message on the client page Quote Share this post Link to post

blueseven 0 Posted ... qBittorrent is awesome. In Options/Connection, fill in the port you forwarded in AirVPNUncheck "Use UPnP"Unhceck "Use different port on each startup" In Options/BitTorrent, Check Enable DHT"Uncheck "Use a different port for DHT and BitTorrent"Check Enable Peer Exchange (PeX)Check Enable Local Peer Discovery (optional, based on seranecks post below)Encryption Mode: Prefer encryptionUncheck Enable anonymous modeUncheck Torrent Queueing (my preference - use the entire ISP pipe for concurrent torrenting) In Options/Advanced, ensure the "Network Interface" is set to "tun0" so it will exclusively use the AirVPN Tunnel. (if on Windows, find the Local Area Connection number that references your tunnel adapter. You can find this out by going to a command prompt, running ipconfig /all, and look for the adapter with the 10.x address). Restart qBittorrent, and you should be good to go. I was essentially able to change all settings that aren't in red. Either because I can't find them or they just don't exist in my current qBittorrent build. I tried humblegod's link for testing ports and it still says it's closed As for dlebasC's post, he mentioned a port forwarding guide but didn't link it. I tried searching for it but no dice. Does anyone have a link? EDIT: After much hair pulling and headbanging against my desk, I found that the culprit was my router settings and that the port wasn't open under security settings. I feel like a bloody idiot now. Much thanks to all who gave me some guidance Quote Share this post Link to post
LZ1 672 Posted ... Did you try updating your qBittorent client? I don't know what your OS is, but if you're using 3.3.16 you're quite far behind and that would explain the missing features. Are you saying you forwarded ports both on your router and in your client? Be careful with that. Quote Hide LZ1's signature Hide all signatures Hi there, are you new to AirVPN?
