WFP is Vista+. So... XP dropped? Quote Share this post Link to post
nick75 25 Posted ... Hi, The download page states XP is not recommended for a good reason. If you're using a VPN for your privacy, using XP — that hasn't seen an update since 2014 — is counterproductive. I highly recommend you upgrade to Windows 7 at least or migrate to another OS (Linux or MacOS)!! Quote Share this post Link to post
LZ1 672 Posted ... Hello! XP is a very old OS and Air has said on a number of occasions that one cannot reasonably expect it to be supported for much longer. However this event once more shows that Windows XP should no more be used when security is a priority. It is an abandoned system. It seems somehow contradictory to use AirVPN services while at the same time running Windows XP... That it received any support at all, is a small miracle in itself. So if possible, you ought to use a newer OS. I recommend: - Seeing if you can change to use Windows Firewall, if you can start Eddie. - Running Eddie in compatibility mode. - Running a portable version of Eddie. Otherwise you may have to upgrade your OS or install Linux alongside Windows XP. If you really must, you could also try downloading an older version of Eddie (also under "Other Versions" on the download page) if you really must. But I don't know if this would make a difference; except for lowering your security even more. Quote Hide LZ1's signature Hide all signatures Hi there, are you new to AirVPN? ls176 0 Posted ... What I am getting at is the download page happily serves up 2.13.6 XP builds which afaict can't work and should probably redirect to 2.12.4 or a big red splash or something. Quote Share this post Link to post
LZ1 672 Posted ... No I don't think that would make sense and it's probably a lot of work in the end. As long as you've got the option to download earlier versions, I think that's fair and I assume you've found out where to download them.
