Network lock gets disabled during shut down process?

Recommended Posts

I feel like this isn't normal. And if it is, something this simple should be warned about in the beginning for a newbie signing up. The network lock feature I tested out works out fine when my pc is running. Yet on shutdown, AIRVPN asks if I'm sure if I want to exit? I have to click yes in order for the PC to begin shutting down. Once I click it, it closes the VPN and suddenly switches to my normal network connection, something it doesn't do normally when I exit AIRVPN before shutting down.

What kills me is this happened while I had Qbittorrent running the background. I had so much faith in AIRVPN that I didn't bother to bind the tap. I freaked out when I started seeing my normal IP again on Ipleaks, and qbittorrent started downloading. It downloaded/uploaded a few kilobytes before I killed the process. I've already received a warning letter from my ISP for copyright infringement, now I'm worried whether those couple of kilobytes of two recently released Blu Rays will send me something I don't want to see.

Christ I was so overjoyed when I finally found all the fixes to get my torrent running at full speed. This just completely killed my mood tonight. Hoping someone can reassure me nothing bad will happen.

Yes, it's intended, correct and well explained in years that Network Lock is disabled when you shut Eddie down, and that making Network Lock survive at Eddie shut down or system reboot would be a bad design.

Kind regards
