UK Google and Netflix on a US server

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I was using airvpn to connect to US Netflix 2 nights ago however, tonight when I access websites through chrome or opera both Google and Netflix are defaulting to UK.

I've tried using the browsers private mode and I have also cleared my computer with CCleaner however no joy.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ta.

Hello!

If you mean you're using the Eddie client to connect to a "recommended" server, then you could simply blacklist the servers or countries you don't like .

Maybe you're running into an error without knowing it. So check the logs and/or post them here .

Looks like my real IP was visible due to the network lock not being enabled.

Not sure why it was working previously.

Cheers!

Possible culprits are Location Services getting enabled and WebRTC leaks.  ipleak.net will help you figure out if it's one of those.

hi guys,

still no solution for Netflix ?

Many other VPNs (expressvpn, vyprvpn, ibvpn, strongvpn etc) already solved it on selected servers since September 2016.

Some also are able to unlock Netflix UK and other EU regions (together with Netflix USA).

I don't want to seem "rude" but it seems that Airvpn staff has been lazy on this key point or decided to completely give up.

I can't speak for all, but a good number of vpn subscribers, pay in order to unlock streaming media platforms.
Currently I see no reason to renew my Airvpn subscription when it will expire.

I hope this is taken as a constructive criticism.

I very much doubt it works as advertised on those platforms. Air essentially did give up, as I see it, by removing Netflix from the list of supported sites. This is more honest in my view, as there's no point in saying you support a website, when it's sketchy at best. They did try their best I think; it's just that ultimately Netflix has been very effective in their VPN-blocking spree and thus the actions Air could take now, are either limited or perhaps exhausted entirely. It's not rude at all - but don't expect Air to do much more about it, because ultimately, it's of little consequence to Air if some customers choose not to sign up, because they can't stream from Netflix. Simply because Air isn't here primarily to make that possible. It's here firstly to promote greater privacy/security online, while for those other VPNs, the goal is likely closer to providing access to streaming sites, as that's probably what the majority of their clientele want . So if your only prerogative is to stream Netflix, then by all means, find a different VPN .

But of course, I'm not a spokes person from Air, so this is my interpretation :].
