{SOLVED} Eddie broke my internet connection

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm on Ubuntu 16.10, using the last experimental version of Eddie.

I restarted my computer while Eddie was running but after this reboot, I was no longer able to launch it. "Another instance of Eddie is already running", even after multiple reboots.

Since then, I'm not able to use Internet on this computer "Adress unreachable".

When this happen on Windows It was related to DNS but on Ubuntu I don't know how to manage this.

Can someone please help?

Thank you

Try to make sure you have the process killed, and delete the .xml file from it's install directory.

Yes. I've even uninstalled Eddie but the problem is still here.

Resolv.conf have:

#Automatically generated by Eddie v2.11.7 | https://airvpn.org. Any manual chan will be overriden

nameserver 10.4.0.1.

But this file is locked and even with sudo I can't edit it

Okay I've solved it by regenerating resolv.conf

sudo chattr -i /etc/resolv.conf
sudo dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf

Thanks. Eddie 2.11.7beta messing up with chattr has been already put under investigation days ago and an important bug has been discovered. It will be fixed in 2.11.8. (Note: this bug pertains only to Linux, other systems users are not affected).

Kind regards
