greenclaydog 6 Posted ... I am on the new Eddie beta and i cannot connect via Tor when it is using a obfs bridge. The error reads that it cannot identify the first node in the established circuit. Is this a bug or does AirVPN only work over non obfuscated tor? No, my protocol is standard TCP 80. Tor is configured with control port 9151 and the proxy port for it is 9150. Quote Share this post Link to post

I can browse webpages in the tor browser without issue. Obviously the tor circuit is working fine. AirVPN is failing to communicate with it. It also works fine if i connect Tor with standard settings. AirVPN only fails to connect if i configure Tor with a obfs3, obfs4 or any other obfuscation option in the Tor browser. As for the time difference i have no idea because where i am its not even 22:04 yet, if i had to guess Tor used UTC instead of my system time. Quote Share this post Link to post
zhang888 1066 Posted ... Your issue starts from the part where Eddie cannot correctly locate the Tor control auth cookie, which ittries to find based on the location of the process name directory and then the default /Data/Tor/control_auth_cookie path: /src/Core/TorControl.cs: string path1 = Platform.Instance.NormalizePath(new FileInfo(processes[0].MainModule.FileName).Directory.Parent.FullName + "/Data/Tor/control_auth_cookie"); When this part fails, Eddie will not be able to communicate with the Tor daemon anymore. What you need to make sure is that you can get this part working again, it worked at an earlier stage: . 2016.11.20 16:20:28 - Tor Control authentication method: Cookie, from E:\Tor Browser\Browser\TorBrowser\Data\Tor\control_auth_cookie. 2016.11.20 16:20:28 - Tor Test: Successful test. Tor Version: 0.2.8.7 (git-263088633a63982a) After that you have to retry connecting to TCP 80 and 443. Some nodes restrict exits to various ports, in that case you will need to change the circuit.Eddie can do it for you, but only if the auth cookie is found. greenclaydog 6 Posted ... There is no reason why it should not be able to find the auth cookie. The directory it has on record is correct and it is there Remember, this only stopped working when i turned on obfs4. My theory is that since the bridge replaces the first node in the circuit that AirVPN does not recognize the first hop as a node because it isn't and therefore closes the connection, making all forms of Tor obfuscation useless. But if you have any other ideas i am all ears. Quote Share this post Link to post

LZ1 672 Posted ... Hello! @ rprimus You're not running the latest Beta though . Quote Hide LZ1's signature Hide all signatures Hi there, are you new to AirVPN? Many of your questions are already answered in this guide. You may also read the Eddie Android FAQ. Moderators do not speak on behalf of AirVPN. Only the Official Staff account does. Please also do not run Tor Exit Servers behind AirVPN, thank you. Did you make a guide or how-to for something? Then contact me to get it listed in my new user guide's Guides Section, so that the community can find it more easily. Share this post Link to post
Khariz 109 Posted ... You can turn off the route checking too, if the only problem is it getting hung up on that. Quote Share this post Link to post
rprimus 2 Posted ... Sat Dec 24 13:16:39 GMT 2016 After some research, it appears that this will require some coding by @Staff (it interested). greenclaydog 6 Posted ... This is something that really should be fixed in the near future. People who actually need Tor over OpenVPN to bypass network restrictions are unable to use it, simply because Tor without obfs and other obfuscation methods is commonly blocked by most adversaries.
