[DEPRECATED] Start client without password

Recommended Posts

I want to start the client without typing the sudo password. But if I add this line

USERNAME ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/airvpn

to /etc/sudoers, it still requires a password.

Linux Mint 18 / Peppermint 7

Airvpn client 2.11.3

Thanks in advance

I found a solution

Add

USERNAME ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: /etc/airvpn

to your /etc/sudoers. For USERNAME insert your username. Be careful, use visudo to edit it.

Now change your starter in the Menu from /etc/airvpn to

su-to-root -X -c /usr/bin/airvpn

Finished.

Now you can start airvpn without typing in you root password.

Hello,

we strongly recommend that you do not do that. You're exposing your system to enormous exploit hazard.

Kind regards
