network_vpn 1 Posted ... Hi, Very new to AirVpn, but I have setup my router and all seems ok. However when I play battlefield 4 I keep getting disconnects stating: Game disconnected: Client closed down connection. Check your network connection and make sure that port 3659 (UDP) is open. This has only started happening since I started using the vpn service. Any ideas what this problem could be and how I can solve it? Quote Share this post Link to post
OpenSourcerer 1441 Posted ... Well.. open port 3659, then. I highly doubt it will be open but who knows, just try. And close it on your router. If you're connected to your VPN, opening ports on your router is superfluous. You're in a tunnel. You don't see what's outside, spoken figuratively. Btw, wasn't there something about PlayStation/Battlefield 4 allowing direct connections for Co-Op or something? Quote Hide OpenSourcerer's signature Hide all signatures NOT AN AIRVPN TEAM MEMBER. network_vpn 1 Posted ... I have tried opening the port using port forwarding in DD-WRT, this doesn't seem to have worked. Whats the correct way of opening a port? Quote Share this post Link to post

No offense, but did you even try to read my post? I linked you the port forwarder and told you to close it on your router. Your connection is tunneled. Forwarding a port on your router is superfluous because the router doesn't see what's inside the OpenVPN tunnel. The correct way is to use the port forwarder. But you won't be able to forward port 3656 because it's already forwarded by another account. Quote Hide OpenSourcerer's signature Hide all signatures NOT AN AIRVPN TEAM MEMBER. Staff 10014 Posted ... I have tried opening the port using port forwarding in DD-WRT, this doesn't seem to have worked. Whats the correct way of opening a port? If and only if it's your router to run OpenVPN and connect to the service, you need to forward a port on your router too, but on tun interface (the virtual network interface used by OpenVPN). If you forward the port from the control panel, the router will forward them on the WAN interface, which would be useless (on the WAN interface packets are still encrypted) and would even expose your system to correlation attacks. Do the correct port forwarding (after of course you have forwarded the port on your account port control panel in our web site) with iptables - follow the guide in our How-To section:https://airvpn.org/topic/9270-how-to-forward-ports-in-dd-wrt-tomato-with-iptables/ Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
