Connect to VPN on agressive (DPI?) networks

Hello,

I currently was at a hotspot in a business.

 

I tried to connect to AirVPN directly*, and wasn't able to.

A competitor to AirVPN was able to.

 

If I'm on an hotspot behind Microsoft Forefront (not sure I got the name right), how can I connect directly to AirVPN?

 

Somewhat related, does AirVPN provide servers with connectivity on port 1194?

 

(*) using stunnel as a middleman worked.

All servers can be used with port 1194 as well, just specify it manually.

Since the beginning of 2015, a year and a half ago, but it was unofficial and not documented, and OpenVPN daemons were not linked to any system (so any malfunction would have gone unnoticed). It is still not documented but you might have seen that this is now included in Eddie, so when Eddie 2.11 "stable" will be released we will modify the "specs" page and add the new connection modes to our early warning systems etc.
