timmybag 0 Posted ... I get high ping when playing Counter Strike while enabling AirVPN to the country where my game server is located. Example, when i select Ukraine on AirVPN and play Counter Strike on a Ukraine server, i still get >200ms ping. Sometimes, my ping seems to fluctuate. From <21ms and it went up to over 200ms then back to <20ms and so forth. i tried searching for the subject on this forum and although there are some people complaining about the issues like mine, they uses terms that i am unfamiliar with so i hope someone here and assist me in a more noob friendly tech terms. i am very new to Steam and PC VPN as i use AirVPN mostly on my iOS device Quote Share this post Link to post
LZ1 673 Posted ... Hello ! Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Firstly, go to your steam settings, in the top left corner and check out the various options. You'll find some relating to servers. Set it to your location and depending on your speeds, set the download to unlimited. It can help. Then go to your AirVPN program, the Eddie client and go to its server list. Then, in the bottom right corner, sort based on "Latency", instead of speed. Then connect to the server at the top of your server list, by double-clicking it. Do note, that the most geographically close servers (sadly) aren't automatically the best and/or fastest ones for you. Then, if you've got a speedy connection, try go to the top left corner in the Eddie program and go to preferences. In there, look for General or Advanced settings and set the send and receive buffers to 256kb. You can also check out my guide, in my signature under this post. In the " After downloading Eddie" section, there's some tips on making things go faster if speeds are slow. You may have to look into some portforwarding business and/or firewall settings, to obtain the best performance. You can check out the official AirVPN FAQs for that, in the community index, as well as my guide. Sorry I can't be more helpful, as I don't have the relevant programs in front of me and am thus going by memory. But feel free to ask if you have any other questions. Welcome to the PC master race? /lol. Sent to you from me with datalove Quote Hide LZ1's signature Hide all signatures Hi there, are you new to AirVPN? Many of your questions are already answered in this guide. You may also read the Eddie Android FAQ. Moderators do not speak on behalf of AirVPN. Only the Official Staff account does. Please also do not run Tor Exit Servers behind AirVPN, thank you. Did you make a guide or how-to for something? Then contact me to get it listed in my new user guide's Guides Section, so that the community can find it more easily. Share this post Link to post
Geralt 1 Posted ... The way I do it while gaming on steam or elsewhere, is selecting the lowest latency server/closest server. goes pretty fine for me. don't connect to a server close to where the game servers are. Quote Share this post Link to post
