Unable to use Eddie on Debian

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I’m a new user trying to install the AirVPN Client on Debian 9.0 64-Bits.

At first, I tried to install airvpn_linux_x64_debian.deb, but some dependencies are missing. ( Dependency is not satisfiable: libmono-system-runtime2.0-cil ). According to the forums this is an old issue.

Then I tried with the portable version. When running “./airvpn” as a normal user the program asks for the root password and then does nothing. According to the forums this is also an old issue.

Finally, running the client with root permissions causes the program to stuck at “Checking login” for exactly 15 Minutes. Then it gives an error.

I 2016.07.15 14:07:35 - Checking login ...

. 2016.07.15 14:22:22 - Cannot retrieve systems & servers data. Please retry later or contact us for help. (An error occurred performing a WebClient request.)

F 2016.07.15 14:22:45 - Cannot login. (An error occurred performing a WebClient request.)

Any idea?

Hello,

it's not an issue in Eddie itself, it's a missing dependency which additionally can't be satisfied in Debian 9 by default. You can test the brand new Eddie 2.11beta, built on Mono 4. https://airvpn.org/topic/18625-eddie-211beta-available/

Kind regards
