shiro21 4 Posted ... I understand many VPN services such as AirVPN block port 25 to limit SPAM. But some VPN services also unblock port 25 on case by case for those who prefer not to use a web mail client, but rather they prefer a desktop client instead. I prefer to use a desktop client. Is there any way you can unblock port 25 for me or suggest workarounds? Quote Share this post Link to post

Is there any way you can unblock port 25 for me or suggest workarounds?Hello! We are aware that blocking outbound port 25 may be annoying, but leaving it open would cause a quick blacklisting of our servers on most spam detectors with severe consequences for us and all our customers. On the other hand, using an SMPT server which accepts TLS/SSL connections (for example on port 465) is a good practice and it's also extremely simple, so it's not really an issue. An e-mail provider that does not offer such connections should not be taken seriously. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further information.Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
shiro21 4 Posted ... I thought I have been using SSL. Hmm... I'll look into it. EDIT: It seems my SSL configurations were improperly set up for who knows how long!! This is embarrassing. Thank you for making me check my settings. I apologize for bothering you. Quote Share this post Link to post

michigan82 4 Posted ... I prefer to use a desktop client. Is there any way you can unblock port 25 for me or suggest workarounds? You don't need port 25 at all. Make whether a secured connection using port 465 or use the submission port 587 which almost all providers should offer. Port 587 needs authentification on the smpt-server. I don't use port 25 for years... Quote Share this post Link to post
