Basic Netflix questions

I've tried everything to connect to US Netflix but whatever I do I receive the VPN detected message.

 

Can somebody advise me what to do - using Android?

 

I've set the Android DNS primary server (WiFi settings>Advanced) to 10.4.0.1 and I then use a VPN tunnel to connect to a US AirVPN server.

 

Am I setting the DNS server address in the correct place?

Try other US servers. Getting on Netflix became quite an ordeal now using a public VPN.

Air team are doing as much as they can but there are no 100% solutions at the moment.

Hello!

 

It is critical that you are aware that Netflix app >=3.7.2 queries directly Google DNS, bypassing any DNS setting of your device (therefore even VPN DNS - which are essential to make our geo-routing system work).

Whenever possible, you must not use Netflix proprietary software. If not possible, you must redirect DNS queries of the Netflix application to VPN DNS (or downgrade Netflix app to some version older than 3.7.2).

Used to work but now it's blocked. I can confirm that too.

I used to have 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in my router setting routed to my own.

Since I run OpenVPN through my router I have had to temporarily disable it to access netflix on my SmartTvs, etc. I suppose the question is, is there anything to do about it? Or do we wait until airvpn has a work around?
