Hi,

Is there any way to change my Firefox configuration so it can only browse when the Airvpn client is connected? I've noticed on occasion if the client crashes or disconnects, it's possible to keep browsing without noticing and I want to prevent that from happening.

Hello!

You can set firewall specific program rules to prevent Firefox to send out packets when the VPN is not connected. We recommend not to use programs, like VPNetMonitor, which forcefully kill applications if they detect a disconnection from the VPN. The drop detection time and the shutdown time allow the application to leak packets anyway, in addition to the usual problems of a forced kill.

We are studying an effective but simple system to prevent once and for all any leak (accidental disconnection, DNS leak) without the barbarian and ineffective system to force applications kill.

In order to achieve your purpose please set the following application rules for firefox.exe in Comodo Firewall (respect strictly the order, from top to bottom):

 

Allow TCP or UDP In/Out From IP In [10.4.0.0 - 10.9.255.255.] To MAC Any Where Source Port Is Any And Destination Port Is Any

Block IP In/Out From MAC Any To MAC Any Where Protocol Is Any

 

In the above rules, MAC Any == "Any IP Address"
