mcurrale 8 Posted ... Hi guys I'm trying to use AirVPN on my Nexus 5 and my Samsung Galaxy Tab S and due to the way Androids are, and at present with no apparent IPV6 non leaking solution in place by just about every VPN provider out there, as soon as I get connected, my IPV6 leaks, thus not allowing me to watch tv from abroad. Besides disabling IPV6 on my router, have you guys got a work around in place as yet? Cheers. Quote Share this post Link to post
Staff 10014 Posted ... Hello, if you have a rooted device you can disable IPv6. Otherwise at the moment we can't provide any solution. Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post

Having done some reading on this subject of late, and also with other VPN providers having put information out to their users assuring them that this is an area that they are working at resolving, I'm hopeful that AirVPN too are looking into trying to get this solved going forward so that we're not stuck with short term fixes such as disabling IPV6 on our end? 1 encrypted reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post

"Other providers" does not have the same transparency. Sometimes it's better to say a honest "No" instead of vague "We are working on this". I would like to ask representatives from those other providers, how exactly they plan to accomplish IPv6 leak prevention without rooting the device first, which is totally, not an acceptable solution and a very bad idea even if their client source code will be open, which I find hard to believe will happen on it's own. So, considering the fact that stock OpenVPN clients for Android have no leak prevention embedded into them, the answer is a technical, engineering "No."Not "we are working on it", not "wait for Xmas", not "soon".
