Doggy 0 Posted ... Hi, I can't seem to deactivate network lock. Rather, I do deactivate network lock, but then I can't access the internet anymore. From what I remember... Installed AirVPN. Used the client. Connected to a server, accessed internet, disconnected from server, still accessed internet. Decided to try network lock. Activated network lock, connected to a server, accessed internet. Disconnected from server, could not access internet. Deactivated network lock, still can not access internet. I've tried a couple times reactivating, reconnected, deactivating, etc, but still I can only access the internet when connected to a server, regardless of the network lock status. Any ideas? I imagine I can manually change some windows firewall settings to open it up again... but I shouldn't have to do that if the airvpn client works, right? Windows 7. AirVPN client 2.9.2. Thanks, Quote Share this post Link to post
Staff 10014 Posted ... Hello! Maybe the firewall settings have not been not restored properly. Try to reset the Windows firewall while the client Eddie is not running (important). Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
lsat 23 Posted ... I can't seem to deactivate network lock. It's OK.Simply reboot.1) disconnect from the internet2)disconnect form the airvpn client2)exit airvpn4)reboot Don't do anything else ( like as resetting the Windows firewall )! Eddie 2.9 works perfectly on Windows 7 with such routine. Quote Share this post Link to post
Doggy 0 Posted ... Thanks for the suggestions. But neither has helped. I restored default settings, then even tried totally disabling windows firewall, and still was unable to connect to the internet. Played with my cable modem/router a bit, but nothing there, and other computers/mobiles are using it just fine. Another PC on which I've used AirVPN but never used Network Lock is also fine. Doggy 0 Posted ... Ok here's maybe a clue (though basically I'm playing around with my limited knowledge without really knowing what I'm doing). If I'm connected to airvpn, if I use a command prompt to ping www.google.com, I get:Pinging www.google.com [173.194.43.115] with 32 bytes of data:and get replys. If I then disconnect from airvpn, and ping www.google.com, I get :Ping request could not find host www.google.com. Please check the name and try againIf I then ping 173.194.43.115, I getPinging 173.194.43.115 with 32 bytes of data:and get replies. Also, I can point my browser to 173.194.43.115 and see google. (oh whenever I previously said "can't access internet" I meant browsing, didn't try torrents, ftp, or others)Does this mean a "DNS" problem? Any ways to fix that? Quote Share this post Link to post
