Can't access airvpn.org on my PC, fine on other machines in network

TOTAL newb here guys so please go easy, 

 

I find that as of today (though I can't exactly place when I last tried) I can't access the airvpn website from ONLY my machine on my home network. I can connect to the web through the vpn just fine, just can't go to the website (using roommate's laptop now) Also, though as I mentioned I can connect to the vpn just fine I notice that when I go to ipleak it takes forever for the 3rd, "DNS Address Detection", check to go through and never completely resolves whether or not my ISP's dns is leaking, the "progess" bar dwindles down a bit but never disappears/stops. This makes me leery as to how secure my connection is. 

 

Assumed that due to the recent troubles and changes on airvpn something on my end was blocking it so I attempted to find and allow the IP/domain but found that I could not access that function in Malwarebytes (free), could not find it in MSE, etc. Finally wound up briefly turning of windows firewall completely and uninstalling MWB and MSE, as well as any other AV/anti malware I had, all to no avail. What else might block a specific website, or am I barking up the wrong tree completely? 

 

Any help truly appreciated. Again, very new to all this and only somewhat computer savvy, however, I do have a firing synapse or two left and can learn, just assume I know nothing and I'll figure it out as we go.

Found similar problem in forum and the responder wanted to see results from pinging several IPs/Domains, I followed suit and my results follow:

 

airvpn.org: sent 4, recv'd 0, lost 4 (100%)

 

95.211.138.143: sent 4, recv'd 4, lost 0

 

auth.airvpn.org: sent 4, recv'd 4, lost 0

 

54.93.175.114: sent 4, recv'd 4, lost 0

it seems that only airvpn.org is blocked in your system, but only through DNS hi-jacking, because you can ping the IP address.

 

Can you please post the FULL output of commands:

ping -c 4 airvpn.org

nslookup airvpn.org

Yikes! DNS hijacking doesn't sound good.

 

Here's the full results of everything, looks like the "-c" wasn't accepted as a parameter though.

Hello!

 

Open your hosts file (with a text editor launched with administrator privileges). You should find the following line:

85.17.207.151 airvpn.org

 

that you maybe inserted in the past for some reason. Delete it, make sure that no other entries pertaining to airvpn.org are there, save the hosts file and try again.

 

airvpn.org should resolve into 95.211.138.143

Ok, that did it, sure as heck. Thanx SO much! Now then; are we worried about this "DNS hijacking" thing you mentioned? Sounds ominous as hell.
